Services

What's the difference between counseling/coaching and therapy? Great question! I am not a licensed therapist and I do not provide therapy treatment. Therefore, I do not bill insurance, nor do I promote my services as "treatment" of individuals. However, I do have extensive education and training around counseling, therapy models/techniques/strategies, and child and adolescent development, with a significant focus on trauma informed, culturally responsive care. I specialize in supporting adolescents who experience challenges with areas such as depression and anxiety, grief, relationship building/social skills, self-harm and suicidal/homicidal ideation. I also know the importance of supporting the adults and caregivers of these youth and strive to provide psychoeducation and purposeful resources for guardians, coaches, educational staff, youth pastors and others.

Christian Counseling

Christian counseling is a form of support that integrates psychological principles with Christian beliefs and values. The aim is to help individuals navigate life's challenges—such as relationship issues, emotional struggles, grief, anxiety, or spiritual concerns—while aligning with their faith.

If you are facing challenges in life and want guidance that reflects your Christian beliefs, Christian counseling offers a way to find both emotional healing and spiritual strength. It’s a safe space to explore your struggles with the support of someone who encourages you on your journey toward peace and restoration.

Dr. Monroe is able to incorporate Christian counseling principles to 1-on-1 support sessions, small groups, and workshops for those who desire this form of mental health support.
